  • Building standard-compliant, lean management systems
  • Internal audits and targeted preparation for external certifications
  • On-site support for initial, surveillance and recertification audits
  • Design of integrated management systems (IMS) for several standards in parallel

Foundation of management systems

Plan – Do – Check – Act: the cycle on which every standard is built.

ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 share a common structure (High Level Structure), and this structure is built around the PDCA cycle. Every clause of the standard has its place in the cycle. A management system that works in everyday operations turns this cycle continuously, with measured values, deadlines and responsibilities.

P

Plan

Context · Leadership · Planning (clauses 4–6)

Define objectives, risks, opportunities and responsibilities. In the plant: process map, measurable quality and environmental objectives, legal register.

D

Do – Implement

Support · Operation (clauses 7–8)

Operate processes as they are planned: resources, qualification, work instructions, control of suppliers and production.

C

Check

Performance evaluation (clause 9)

Measure, audit, evaluate: key figures, internal audits according to ISO 19011, management review with decisions.

A

Act – Improve

Improvement (clause 10)

Eliminate nonconformities, remove causes, plan the next cycle better: corrective actions, Kaizen, TPM.

Kaizen and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) are the tools that bring the cycle to the shop floor: small, daily improvements by the employees at the plant and preventive maintenance as a fixed part of production. Both are planned in when a management system is built and become visible in the audit.

Frequently asked questions

How do I prepare my company for an initial ISO 9001 certification?

The process starts with a gap analysis to reveal gaps against the standard. Core processes are then described, responsibilities anchored and an internal audit simulated to eliminate nonconformities before the actual certification date.

How long does the path to initial certification typically take?

Depending on the size of the company and the existing documentation, the structured build-up to certification readiness usually takes between 6 and 12 months. A realistic schedule secures acceptance in practice.

What distinguishes an IMS from individual certifications?

An integrated management system brings together common elements of different standards, such as document control, internal audits or management reviews, in a single structure. This saves administrative effort and reduces audit costs.

Do you also carry out internal audits?

Yes. As a qualified lead auditor, I carry out your internal audits completely and neutrally in accordance with ISO 19011, including legally sound records and follow-up of actions.
